“We are all in this together..lalalalala.” I am sure that by this time you are already humming or singing this song with the few lyrics there. (Sadly, those are the only parts I know) For all of you who do not know (where did you come from?!), this is the widely popular and widely successful film series from good old Disney. This is The High School Musical. A story about, as the name suggests, a high school musical. Disney did not anticipate this movie to be so successful that the first movie was made directly to be shown on Disney channel. There was no original plotting in this film actually; however, in just a short span of time, it catapulted the virtual unknowns into household names throughout the whole world enabling them to become superstar sensations overnight. I am referring to the on screen and real life couple Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens. Talk to any child three years old and up and he will tell you who this two are–better known by their on screen personas Troy and Gabriela.

The story is reminiscent of the musical films Footloose and Saturday Night Fever with no profanity and 100% positive outcomes. The story began with a boy pressured by his father to play basketball when it turned out the boy likes to act in school plays. HE then goes to fall in love with a newcomer who likes theater as well and because of their love they managed to overcome all obstacles. And they live happily ever after. HS2 followed after with the same ending. The legions of fans gobbled it all up and so HS3 was born. This time High School Musical 3 was a blockbuster hit. Throngs of “tweens” came flocking the cinema to see their ultimate crushes. In this story, the cast is now in their senior year and faces graduation blues and all that what is in store for our future stuff.

The movie was really made with lots of money and the dance seen presents gorgeous dresses worn by the characters. Since watching High School Musical 3, my daughters want nothing more than dress up their dolls so that “They will look like Troy and Gabriela.” It is very difficult to buy pretty doll dresses for them so I resorted to Bratz Dress Up games instead.
